Applications for the 2020-21 cohort

are due February 14th, 2020

*NOTE: The GSAS application portal says Feb 13th but we will continue to accept applications through 11:59 PDT Feb. 14th*

Students may enroll in the QMSS program full-time or part-time.

The Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences program is a Master of Arts Degree housed within the Graduate School of Arts and Science (GSAS). As such, applicants are beholden to all of the school's admissions policies and procedures, which you can read in full HERE.

Application materials include:

  • Transcripts of all previous post-secondary education
  • Statement of purpose
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Resume/CV
  • GRE scores
  • TOEFL/IELTS scores if applicable.

NOTE: You will see an option to upload a supplemental writing sample within the application. This portion is NOT required but you may use it to include any additional content or information that you feel strengthens your candidacy.

All application materials must be submitted electronically to the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Please see their website for more information on the application process. Please contact for any questions pertaining to the receipt of materials.

We strongly encourage applicants to submit materials at the earliest date possible as the admissions committee will be processing a high volume of materials. However, our admissions are NOT rolling; all applications submitted by the deadline are given the same consideration. We also do not penalize applicants for materials that are submitted by the deadline but do not reach the department by that date (i.e. standardized test scores and letters of recommendation that may take a while to deliver.)
